Florida has the highest demand for marine mechanics in the nation—where there are boats and water, skilled technicians are always needed. The Marine Mechanics program at Tech High prepares students for this high‑growth field through hands‑on training with both inboard and outboard engines. Students learn to troubleshoot and repair engines, including electrical systems, while developing the technical skills the industry relies on.

Our strong partnerships with Yamaha, Suzuki, and Mercury ensure students train on current equipment and stay aligned with industry standards. Students also have opportunities to earn industry-recognized certifications that strengthen their résumés and open doors to employment with marinas, dealerships, boat manufacturers, and service centers. Through teamwork and hands‑on challenges, students develop problem‑solving abilities, technical precision, and professional work habits that set them apart.

The Marine Mechanics program is ideal for students who enjoy working with their hands, have an interest in mechanics or marine technology, and want to build a career connected to Florida’s vibrant boating community.
