Mathematics

At Tech High, all math courses are designed to build strong problem‑solvers, analytical thinkers, and mathematically confident students. Our curriculum moves from foundational algebra through advanced, college‑level coursework, emphasizing real‑world applications, logical reasoning, and preparation for post‑secondary success. Students engage in rigorous study across algebra, geometry, data literacy, and precalculus, with Advanced Placement options for those seeking higher‑level challenge.

Courses Offered:
  • Algebra IA
  • Algebra I
  • Geometry Honors
  • Algebra II Honors
  • Math for Data & Financial Literacy
  • Math for College Liberal Arts
  • AP Precalculus

Students in upper‑level math courses deepen their understanding of functions, modeling, statistics, and mathematical reasoning. AP students work at a college level, using multiple representations, communication skills, and symbolic fluency to master advanced concepts.

Advanced Placement Options:

  • AP Precalculus: A rigorous course covering polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and polar functions. This course prepares students for future STEM coursework and helps meet college‑level math readiness requirements.

See our Curriculum Guide for detailed descriptions, course progressions, prerequisites, and expectations.
