Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Support

At Tech High, our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) team is dedicated to ensuring every student receives the support, encouragement, and individualized instruction they need to succeed. We work closely with students, families, teachers, and service providers to create an inclusive learning environment where all learners can thrive.

Our ESE staff develops and implements Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), coordinates services, and maintains ongoing communication between school, home, and community agencies. In addition to classroom support and progress monitoring, we collaborate with teachers to ensure accommodations and instructional strategies are in place throughout the school day.

Services Offered:
  • IEP development, review, and implementation
  • Coordination of support services
  • Classroom monitoring and academic support
  • Regular communication with students, families, and teachers
  • Transition planning for eligible students
  • Self‑advocacy and self‑determination instruction
Targeted students participate in Transition Planning, a course designed to support career exploration, workplace skills, and success in technical program areas. This class blends elements of learning strategies with real‑world readiness and post‑secondary preparation.

We also offer Self‑Determination, a monthly pull‑out program for older students focused on self‑advocacy, academic planning, and transition goals. This course helps students gain independence and confidence as they prepare for life after high school.

Our ESE team is committed to helping every student build the skills they need for academic, social, and future success.
