Administration

Mr. Wolfenden was born in Hialeah, FL and grew up in Palm Beach County, graduating from Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, FL in 1993. He earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Spanish from Florida State University in 1997, and he began his career with Pinellas County Schools in 2001 as a campus monitor at Madeira Beach Middle School. The following school year, he became a dropout prevention teacher and then moved on to teach Spanish at John Hopkins Middle School and then Clearwater High School. He earned a Master of Educational Leadership degree from University of South Florida in 2008.

He became the Assistant Principal and Magnet Program Coordinator for the Exploring Careers and Education in Leadership (ExCEL) magnet program at Largo High School where he gained valuable industry experience serving as the administrator overseeing Largo High School's new campus construction. He became the first Assistant Principal at Richard O. Jacobson Technical High School in 2018 and was promoted to Principal in 2021. He is a strong advocate for Career Technical Education, and he works closely with district leaders, business partners, and community organizations to promote opportunities for students to engage in real world internships, apprenticeships, and career pathways in which students are working toward industry certification.

Mr. Wolfenden believes that his work as the Principal of Richard O. Jacobson Technical High School should transform the lives of students, improve the trajectory of families, and make a significant impact on our local economy. At Tech High, we know that success doesn't happen by accident, we have to be intentional in our approach to excellence.
